Sydney Aerial virtual tour from the AMP building by Pixelcase
Sydney is the biggest town in Australia, with a urban area population of roughly 4.34 million .It is the state capital of New South Wales, and was the site of the first British colony in Australia. Situated on an inlet of the Tasman Sea, Sydney is founded on low hills surrounding Port Jackson. It was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Arthur Phillip, admiral of the first Fleet from Britain. A resident of the town is referred to colloquially as a Sydneysider.
Sydney is situated on Australia’s south-east coast.
The city is built around Port Jackson, which includes Sydney Harbor , leading to the city’s nickname, “the Harbour City”. The town is home to the classic Sydney Opera House, Harbor Bridge and its beaches. The urban area is encircled by countrywide parks, and contains many bays, streams and inlets. The main airfield serving Sydney is Kingsford Smith Global airfield, typically known as Sydney airfield. Sydney is one of the most multicultural towns in the world, which reflects its role as a major destination for immigrants to Australia. According to the Mercer price of living survey, Sydney is Australia’s most expensive town, and the fifteenth most pricey in the world. Sydney also lists among the top ten most livable towns in the world according to Mercer HR Consulting and The Economic guru .
The Sydney CBD is bounded on the east-facing side by a chain of parkland, and the west by Darling Harbor , a visitor and nightlife precinct.
Though the CBD ruled the town’s business and cultural life in the beginning, other business / cultural districts have developed in a radial pattern since World War Two. As a result, the percentage of white-collar roles found in the CBD fell from more than sixty % at the end of World War II to less than thirty % in 2004.along with the commercial district of North Sydney, joined to the CBD by the Harbor Bridge, the most important outer business districts are Parramatta[44] in the central-west, Penrith in the west, Bondi Junction in the east, Liverpool in the southwest, Chatswood to the north, and Hurstville to the south. Sydney’s skyline has been ranked as the best in Australia and the 25th best in the world ( before such towns as L. A. And So Paulo ). The intensive area covered by urban Sydney is officially split into 642 suburbs ( for addressing and postal purposes ), and administered as forty local govt areas.
There’s no city-wide executive, but the govt of New South Wales and its agencies have intensive responsibilities in providing metropolitan services. The Town of Sydney itself covers a reasonably tiny area comprising the central financial district and its neighbouring inner-city suburbs.

What a great pic. I have never seen the city in this much detail. I would never have imagined that there is so much open space around the opera house.
