Constructed in celebration of Y2K, the Millennium dome was conceived under a John Major-led conservative federal government to celebrate the coming of the third millennium. Inside the preparing stages a lot hype surrounded the dome. It was for being ‘London’s solution towards Eiffel Tower’ and ‘the envy from the world’.
